Airline fares for domestic flights have become unfair and overly expensive, as well as that the pricing and costing of these flights has become more and more unclear. What are the charges and taxes for? What exactly are we paying for? It is understandable that we need to cut down on flights in order to protect the environment, but why peanalise domestic leisure travellers? Particularly those on low incomes. For example:- A flight form Belfast to Southampton in February for two weeks return will cost around £580 for a 1 hour flight, yet you can fly to New York for around £800 which is an 8 hour flight of around 8,000 miles. How can this kind of pricing be fair or justified? Clearly it is the domestic travellers that suffer here.
