Name: Victoria Elliott on Apr 20, 2008Comments: On behalf of all the members and their foster children at Suncoast Foster Parent Association, we plead for your mercy in allowing our children the dignity and respect they deserve. Think of our children as you would your own. How could you deny any child their constituitional right to a quality life, and the pursuit of happiness I am in the process of adopting my two teenagers. Any cuts in the Adoption Subsidy will have a negative impact on their life. Please help us to help these children by giving them an opportunity to be a part of a loving and caring FAMILY.Flag

In times of economic dificulties, please be forward thinking and protect the most vulnerable - letting the wealthy and business sector do their fair share to support the programs and services that will mean a lifetime of difference for our children. Name: Daniel Brannen on Apr 20, 2008Comments: The cost of human misery is high in American Society - in economic terms, social terms, and moral terms. We see the aftermath in its wake as it overwhelms the poor, as it pits community against community, and as it slowly decays our love for our fellow man. However, the reward of human triumph is priceless. And together we can share in its bounty. Thus, let us not tarry for a moment to ensure that every 18-year-old foster teen is given the opportunity to become a happy, healthy, and contributing member of our society (Debunking The Year 18 Myth, November 2002, Kids@Home, Boca Raton, Florida). I penned those words six years ago so that we, adult Americans, would remember that our actions, moreover, our inactions, would forever impact future generations - our children and our children's children - that either it would be their happiness which we secured or their pain. I pray the good folks of Florida secure their happiness. Daniel J. Brannen Former President & CEO, Kids@HomeFlag
