Margaret Grant | Let's use some sense in the long run it is less expensive to get children adopted and out of foster care than it is to provide a subsidy for adopted children.

Rose Llauget | Keep Foster Parents in the position that they will continue fostering and not cram so many children into one home that they become victums of continuing abuse.
Pamela Kedenburg | This reduction will be a horrible blow to the children of Florida.
Anonymous | Can't funds be cut some place eles.

Jellica McLellan-Martinez | Our children our the future! If we cut cost on them, who will care for them? Who will give them good homes? Who will be there for them? We set standrards and exact children to grow up and be able to live in this world with standrards. But we forget about who will teach them these standards! If we choose to cut cost on these kids, then we have no right to complain about the drugs on the street or abuse in the world! We teach the children stardards we teach them never to give up, to reach for your dreams, and we as adoptive parents teach our kids that everyone should be loved when people have thought they were unlovable!
Mark VanMeter |
Teresa Weaver | Please do not hurt our most vulnerable and precious citizens. These innocent children need and deserve our best efforts.
Debra Shannon Douglas | We have adopted a high risk child, we need the subsidy to be able to afford the treatment he requires to try to stabalize his behaviours

Teresa Guerard | Abused children require specialized parenting to overcome the traumas and resulting negative behaviors that make it so difficult for these children to function successfully in our homes, schools and communities. To cut the subsidies means that mom's will not be able to stay at home to do the healing work that must happen with these children. Please do not cut the subsidies for these children, it will greatly reduce their likelihood of adoption and it will cost the state more in the long run as they remain in care indefinitely.

| 3578 | Ravi Hasija | Please do not cut the budget for these under-privileged children.

marti zeitz | Currently we do not do enough to protect our vulnerable children. Cutting the budget as proposed would only endanger them more. Can't Florida do better for its children??? I have had personal experience with how the system does not work for children already!!!

Carol Pera | As I read this, it amazes me how our elected officials make decisions. May God help you all have insight, wisdom, and understanding when you hold positions of authority. I am an adoption family case manager, and have been working with children in childwelfare for about 10 years. I have seen many hurting children, and they rely upon us to make informed decisions in their lives. By cutting the adoption subsidy, will mean that alot of our children in our system will not be adopted. There are many families that have great hearts for our children, but need the assistance with subsidy money to help support them due to the rising cost of living expenses. It will cost the State of Florida far more money in the long run if you cut subsidy money. There must be other areas you can cut, please understand the childwelfare system and what this will do to our children in care.
