11 B. Bhakti CohenAs a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida, I counsel many children in the foster care system. Please do not fail them further by cutting their funding source. What a travesty this would be!!!

14 BarbaraMcMillinThe proposed budget cuts are simply abusive.
15 Pam PearceI am so very worried about the effects these cuts will have on our most needed, especially our abused and neglected children. It is not their fault. Their parents need help through substance abuse treatment, parenting, therapy etc so these children do not say for even longer periods in foster care, a much more costly option. I would gladly pay more taxes to take care of these children.

17 Barbara G. SosnowitzChildren are the the future of our state. We will pay now or later when children turn into adults who were not cared for when they were young!!

19 Eileen Roy, Alachua County School Board memberI am appalled at your budget cuts to programs serving abused and neglected children. Please rethink these devastating and mean-spirited cuts. I want to know why you refuse to tap funds that are readily available and which would spare the damage inflicted on public schools and agencies which serve the most vulnerable among us. Taxing internet sales, which is legal and done in many other states, is one choice. This would also have a beneficial effect on local businesses. Taxing cigarettes is another option, which would raise money and save lives in the long run. Cutting vital services such as those I have mentioned is a cowardly act. Please have the courage to do the right thing. Eileen Roy, Alachua County School Board member

32 shirley brynerisn't bad enough that we are in the bottom 3 of worst schools in the country? This whole property tax cut was just a way for the Legislation to make people "think" they were getting something. But the Gov't never gives something without out taking it from somewhere else. Please put an end to the idea of cutting the FL gas tax too. Average person buys maybe 20 gallons a week. Cutting the gas tax would save $43.20, not much of a savings. But it means $216 Million dollars in taxes lost. No Thanks!!! Hey there's an idea use the gas tax money to help keep our teachers, policemen, firemen, and others who serve our communites well paid with jobs.

38 Laura WalterOur System is already struggling. There are already not enough case workers, ect. to help these children as it is. My husband and I have three children we have adopted thru the Foster Care system. The two older ones have horror stories of never seeing their case workers. Being placed in foster care homes they were being mistreated and neglected. Please don't allow these budget cuts. Don't let the state re-abuse them. We are there only hope!!!
