The EU browser ballot screen's purpose is to level the playing field for browsers in
the Windows operating system pc market. But the EC is counting Apple Safari
users on Apple operating systems to determine position and placement on the
Windows browser ballot screen.
This is hurting smaller, Windows-focused browser companies in the EU market.
Of the
three tracking tools used by the EC uses to assess market share only one -
NetMarketShare - differentiates between Apple Safari usage on Windows or Apple
OS. NetMarketShare consistently puts Maxthon ahead of Apple on Windows, and has
for a while.
The EC has ended up
creating unfair advantage in a tool deliberately designed to reduce unfair
advantage. This needs to change!
Remove Apple OS users from the browser ballot calculations!
