I, the undersigned, do not support or agree with the new parking fee structure imposed by Kwantlen on students in July 2012, which has resulted in the following changes:
- Elimination of the semester pass, effectively increasing parking fees for full time students by nearly 80%
- Elimination of the 4hr parking option, which greatly benefits part time students who are only on campus for a single 3hr class
- Elimination of reserved parking passes for students, which benefits students with exceptionally busy lives (ex. single parents) or students whose course involve bringing assignments and equipment that are large and difficult to carry to campus
- Elimination of Car-pool parking passes, which benefits students who commute to campus together, helping the environment by reducing emissions and traffic volume
By signing this petition, I am urging the University to reverse the changes made in order to provide more fair and affordable parking to Kwantlen students.
