It has become apparent to those of us still using your product, "Metal Gear Online", that your customer service representatives for the North American servers have abandoned it's customers, and player-base. There continues to be highly blatant cheating in-game, including, but not limited to, illegal internet attacks against your customers, and even against your own servers that host games in the official modes "Survival" and Tournament". The many problems that have plagued this game for years now continue to persist, and have frankly gotten worse with these new barrage of attacks. Metal Gear Online has become virtually unplayable in the "Tournament" mode due to these DDoS, (distributed denial-of-service), attacks, and your players are abandoning this game quickly now that the Survival mode servers are now starting to be attacked with this method. It is unfortunate that your lack of timely action against those who are causing problems will likely destroy this game before it's time. The following are a few suggestions on what you need to do to rectify this terrible situation on Metal Gear Online. These suggestions are from loyal customers who play legitimately, courteously, and fairly on MGO. 1. Legally pursue and prosecute those who are carrying out attacks on your servers and your customers. These distributed denial-of-service attacks are illegal and fall under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act in the United States. 2. Place in-game moderator(s) during Survival and Tournament to monitor player activity in order to catch those who cheat. This will lead to instant bans for those who seek to reduce the enjoyment of those who play fairly and legitimately on MGO. Additionally, swift action is necessary regarding the banning and prohibition of players who are proved to knowingly cheat on Metal Gear Online. It's become obvious in recent months that most, if not all, of those players who are manipulating MGO outside of the terms-of-service have not been dealt with properly. They continue to cheat, and nothing is being done. 3. Make internet upload speeds auto-detect for Metal Gear Online. There are many who purposely alter their upload to give themselves an unfair advantage against players who have a better internet connection. 4. Either region lock all servers, or unlock all servers. It is unfair for those who have purchased MGO Japan, paid for the expansions and character slots, and they cannot enjoy the Survival and Tournament modes in that region. Either bar players in the Asian and European server areas from playing in North America, or open all of the servers up so that we may play on the games that we paid for. 5. Equalize the distribution of Reward Points in North America. It's completely unfair that the Japanese region can earn double the reward points in Survival, Tournament, and Automatching, compared to it's North American counterparts. Especially with the highly expensive white items that have recently been released. It seems only the highest earners and cheaters who dominate many of the wins in Survival and Tournament, are realistically able to afford these items without saving for a year or more. 5. Patch the bugs that still persist over 3 years into Metal Gear Online. It's baffling that you have not addressed the serious problems in the animation system yet. You have to know that players can "roll" or "backstep" and virtually disappear at times only to reappear somewhere where the observing player did not expect it. This occurs with almost any animation in-game, from a player tossed by a grenade, to someone rolling off of a ledge. 6. Give us more reasons to play Metal Gear Online. You have Metal Gear Arcade, a new Metal Gear HD collection, and Metal Gear Solid: Rising is on the horizon. Why not tie-in to those products a bit with Metal Gear Online? With the HD collection, you're touting the benefits of this "transfarring" system, so why not "transfarr" some new maps, special characters, and gameplay elements to MGO? If you tie-in to the new products, you will bring many new players on board to MGO, (thus them having to buy Metal Gear Solid 4), increasing your customer base, sales, and ultimately bolstering the strength of the whole Metal Gear back-catalog and lineage. How about a special event once in a while? Is it too much to ask that you give us a 24-hour Survival event once every couple of months? Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and New Year's are coming up. It would be nice to have an event for the holiday season. Perhaps advertise/package it with the new HD collection to increase it's sales for the holiday? We expect that you will read this letter, and do something immediately to address our concerns about the current state of Metal Gear Online. Most of us have paid for, and enjoyed, Konami products for years. It's unfortunate that regarding the customer service with Metal Gear Online, the ball has really been dropped. Our concerns will also be sent to the main offices in Japan, gaming review sites and magazines, and to the various stockholders of Konami. We want to let all those who care know of our current dissatisfaction with Metal Gear Online, it's lack of effective action against cheaters, and the seemingly negligent attitude of those that are supposed to keep this game fun, fair, competitive, and enjoying for it's customers.
