We believe that any problems for motorists can be addresses by a re-phasing of the lights and other minor improvements.

I have spent my mornings watching families struggle to navigate that crossing safely while drivers ignore the needs of our neighbors. The committee remains silent on our requests for re-phasing the lights but I am still pushing for a meeting to discuss these basic safety improvements.

Seeing this kind of momentum reminds me why I started this fight for my neighborhood. It feels like the local committee might finally have to pay attention to our safety on the canal path.

Ridiculous decision. I use this path daily and it would be a nightmare without the island.
TOTAL MADNESS to remove this. Traffic light phasing is the obvious answer. Don't prioritise cars over people's safety.
leave it alone. it works fine.
Why is it always about the cars? Think of the cyclists for once. Just fix the lights!
So many close calls there already. Taking out the island is just asking for an accident to happen.

Keep the island. It makes crossing the road so much safer for my kids when we bike down the towpath. Drivers can wait an extra ten seconds.
