Comments: We need to correct the Magnusen act and not reduce catch limits just based soley on weight. That means you can catch less, but if they are bigger, you have to reduce this years harvest and the number of fish is irrelevant. I get that there are better breeding weights, but the math isn't working out to accomodate other variables in the environment like more reefs and expanding commercial shares. The recreational guy gets what is left.

Comments: Last year, a statewide newspaper dedicated to sport fishing had to shut down due to lack of advertising revenue, after years of successful operation. This put a couple of dozen writers and more than 50 other people out of work. The last thing Florida's economy needs is something to stifle fishing, and its attendant revenue.

Comments: I am a local Handyman and my business depends on people living in the area with good paying jobs who in turn can pay me. By shutting down the fishing industry you will be shutting down many other dependent businesses which the current economy can ill afford. Let these people earn a living and fish!

Comments: I am all in favor of a longer red snapper season..The NMFS has no way of knowing how many snapper are in the gulf waters..As a charter Capt I have never had my red snapper catch recorded,so how do they know how many lbs are caught each year..it looks like to me it is all guesstimate..Some one needs to be accountable for these actions.. There is more red snapper than ever before in my area of the gulf...we need a longer season for our business...
