Official Petition for Fisher College to Make Up Snow Days

It is February 7th and already in the Spring semester, classes for Fisher students have been canceled 3 times. Sure, on the days of the cancellations, we are glad not to have an obligation to attend classes, however we have already paid for these classes in our tuition.

Fisher College is a private school and our college education is an expensive investment we are making in our future. We should be getting the most for our dollar, but already we have lost hundreds of dollars each due to class cancellations.

Based on the cost of tuition for Fall 2010, anyone who is taking 5 classes this semester loses $61.38 for every class that meets 3 times weekly, and $92.06 for every class that meets twice weekly. Considering these calculations, I alone have been cheated out of $429.65 this semester... That's enough to pay for all of my books this semester!

It is in my belief that Fisher should be made to make up these classes to us or to refund this money to its students and their parents. Please sign this petition so it can be presented to the school in an effort to get our money back!

Snow days are figured into our year to ensure we are in school the correct number of days. I'm spending $38,000 a year to send my daughter to Fisher. I think they should be held accountable to provide a certain number of days in education. It is what we are paying for. If they miss days due to snow they should make them up or refund our money.
