   Comments: To FCCA: What kind of governing board would impose this kind of irresponsible idea onto it's people? I always thought you were there for my protection and overall benefit. Now this. How long do you feel it would it take for the novelty of giant plastic dragons applied to this indefensibly expensive/bad idea to wear off? Perhaps one year? Who concocted this immature idea? Children? Splashpad? Dragons? It is a very small park in a quiet neighborhood with few small children. Are you really that out of touch to the wants and desires of this tranquil community? Control the reckless spending. If you are motivated to spend $11M because it is written, put responsible community improvements in place. Not this.

   Comments: My family does not wish to have our community pool taken away. My family does not wish for making any changes to the EdgeWater Park by using our membership fund. FCCA should re-evaluate the options with FCCA member and surrounding labors wish and inputs. FCCA should prioritize and allocate fund to the most immediate needs such as security, maintenance and landscaping. My family does not want our membership fund to be used and allocated to the options that were created by a group of individuals who have misrepresented our needs and inputs. My family wants to have a Community Association who really acts what their mission as “Where Family and Community Come First”.

   Street Address: The size and scope of the splash park the FCCA Board is imposing on Lakes of Edgewater and the surrounding neighborhoods is completely out of proportion to First Colony.. . It is comercial in size, equivalant to a Splash Town or Sea World. Do we want to invite so many strangers from around the Houston metropolitan area into the middle of our neighborhoods? What will the influx of strangers do to our peace and quiet, to our safety, to street parking, the the traffic on our residential streets, to our clean and cultivated yards, litter free streets and to Sugar Land's nationally advertised low crime rate? Our homeowners purchased a view, a quiet morning jog or evening family walk and a neighborhood to brag about. Our homeowners want safe and attractive pools and playgrounds for our families. Facilities that are the appropriate size and cost for the community. Facilities that are located so as not to disrupt owners by virtue of noise, excess vehicle trafic, trash and litter,or parking problems. They want playgrounds that do not lure non residents. First Colony homeowners and residents do not want a public amusement park as a next door neighbor. Who is profiting from using our assessments to construct a disruptive facility in the middle of our community over the objection of 70% of the dues paying owners? Why did the FCCA Board go into back room executive session to spend our money on a plan the owners never approved and were not given the oportunity to vote on? What are they hiding? Are we going to wait until the FCCA Board's version of Disney World, built with our assessments, is completed to find out the answers to these questions? Let us all voice our objection and put a stop to this now, before it is to late..

    Comments: The hubris the FCCA has demonstrated by going forward with this ridiculous plan – especially in an economy as fragile as the one we're living in – is truly breathtaking. They've been wanting to do this for years, but got shot down several times before...until now. They've really labored to sneak this through. Here's an example: they've been changing the operating schedule of the pools to inconvenient hours that most kids and families can't use, and then attesting that not enough people are using the pools. They've also been keeping our Crescent Lakes pool so filthy that most of the women in the neighborhood who used to enjoy swimming there have stopped going because they were getting yeast infections from it. I myself picked up a fungal infection from the pool the last time I went that took me months to get rid of. If you put on a pair of swim goggles and look underwater, you'll see filmy water; scum; rotting insects; hair, and I don't know what else floating all around you – that's what you're swimming in. Pretty crafty move by our FCCA friends – make sure people can't or won't use the pools, and then tear them out because they're under-utilized.
