We, the undersigned, call upon our elected officials in West Virginia to legalize Class C "Consumer" Fireworks (i.e. Firecrackers, Bottle Rockets, Roman Candles, M-80 Salutes, Daygo Bombs, Cherry Bombs, Large reloadable shells (festival balls or shots)) for sale during non-fire seasons to the general public. We, the undersigned, do understand the need to ensure public safety and call upon our elected officials to institute a mandatory purchase age of 18 years old for fireworks. Furthermore, we, the undersigned, do recognize the need to suspend the sale of "Consumer" Fireworks during cases of extreme fire danger caused by drought or other environmental conditions and ask that the WV State Fire Marshall be given authority to suspend sales when necessary to ensure both public safety and state resources.
