Name: Anonymous on Jan 6, 2008Comments: Stinespring needs to be fired based on his poor offensive schemes, inabilit to coach, and his putrid game time play calling. Enough, fire this bum!!! He has been the common weak element in our offense the past few years (offensive line, tight ends and now the play calling)..... Enough, fire him!Flag

Name: Clay Norman on Jan 6, 2008Comments: Our offense loses game after game. I do not understand how we can not be better on offense. I do not understand how after riding Ore all the way down the field for a TD, we abandon the run game. We make other defenses look good because they know what plays we are going to call. We need to spend some $$ on a good proven offensive coordinator. Stinespring must go.Flag

Name: Kevin Parsley on Jan 6, 2008Comments: I hate to sign this. Stinespring HAS helped our program and been a great recruiter. I do know that it is time for a new Offensive coordinator. I would love to see him stay with the program , perhaps in his former role as a tight ends coach. All that said WE MUST MAKE A CHANGE.Flag

Name: Chris on Jan 7, 2008Comments: I concur! I have been preaching this since he took over at OC. At times he showed glimmers of hope, but the VT football needs more then a few highlights to take the program to the next level. It's one thing to make it into a BCS bowl game, but it's another to win it on a nationally televised stage. The consequences of keeping Stinespring run much deeper then just a poor offense ranking, it hurts recruiting for years to come. Top recruiting talent do not want to play for a team that seems to struggle offensively year-in and year-out and cannot win the big games. They want to play for a program that is tested and true and is innovative offensively. These kids have dreams of playing in the NFL and they quickly summize they will not be making any highlight reels playing at VT given their lack luster offense. It will cost VT more in the long run then the $800k buy-out of Stinesprings contract if they keep him. However, given that Stinespring's wife is a seceratary there and Frank appears to let his loyalties get in the way of business sense, it will not happen at least before his contract expires in 2009.Flag

Name: Chris Williams on Jan 7, 2008Comments: My family goes back with Va tech almost 75 years. I sat in games on saturdays as a boy growing up watching wake forrest beat up on us with hardly anyone in the stadim. We have come a long way and it pains me to watch what has been going in the last 5 or so years with the offense. We are so close to being a top 5 team every year. We need to make a change to the spread offense to use our great athletes that we work so hard to recruit. Pay them what they are worth. 17 million for a BCS Bowl , we can afford to pay whatever it takes to win.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 8, 2008Comments: One only has to look at offense statistics each year that Stinespring has been here to know that he is not getting the job done. The loss in the OB is just the latest loss that in my opinion was an unnecessary loss, that was due to poor play calling and lack of adequate preparation. I have been very vocal on the message boards on my belief that Stiney must be replaced, and I support that opinion on this petition.Flag
