We have to fire JP Ricciardi! He has caused the Toronto Blue Jays too much trouble and is destroying the team! He should have been LONG GONE, but somehow he is STILL HERE, tearing the team apart! If he stays here, the team would fall to the bottom! He is the one responsible for the Vernon Wells contract. He signed Wells for seven years until 2014. Wells is paid about $12 million this year and next. After 2010, his salary then skyrockets to $21-23 million per year. If Wells is doing his job, hitting with men on base and lots of home runs, then the contract is not a problem. However, Wells is NOT doing his job, so he does NOT deserve what he is getting. This is one of Ricciardi's major screw-ups. Ricciardi also forced Delgado to resign so that they can end his contract. Delgado did not make as much as Wells is right now, but is doing MUCH better than Wells is right now. This turned out to be a major mistake, as I know that Delgado is doing well with the Mets right now. If Ricciardi kept Delgado and did not sign Wells, the Jays would be much better of right now. Ricciardi also does not want to give a PROVEN good young player a chance to play in the Major Leagues. Last September, Travis Snider was called up to the Major Leagues and hit .301. Even though, he did not hit as well as that this year, he still has better offense and defence than Inglett this year. Furthermore, even when Snider was not on the field, the team went 27-14. After he was demoted, the team fell apart, going 27-43. Furthermore, when Rios was waived to the White Sox, Ricciardi STILL did not call up Snider! The stats say everything! Ricciardi also has created bad rumours for Halladay. He said that Halladay will not sign with the Blue Jays for a contract extension after 2010. This is NOT what Halladay said. Instead, he said that he will monitor the situation of the team. If the team is getting better, he WILL sign. If not, he may consider his options, but he DID NOT say that he WILL NOT sign with the Jays. Ricciardi also gave an idea that he wanted to TRADE Halladay! Even though he did not do it, the fact that he OPENED up the possibility is very bad for Halladay and the team! As a result, I was not surprised that Halladay got hit a bit at the All-Star game. Having the possibility of being traded on the back of one's mind can definitely affect one's performance. For this, Ricchardi should be fired. Ricciardi just decided to waive Rios. Although Rios was not doing well early in the season, he seems to have improved. Furthermore, he steals lots of bases (when he is allowed to), and this can significantly help the team. Even when he was not doing very well, he was still doing MUCH better than Vernon Wells. As a result, waiving Rios was a BAD decision and he is responsible for it. In conclusion, the general manager JP Ricciardi MUST be fired! He is responsible for giving Vernon Wells the HUGE contract, with little return. He also is responsible for making Delgado resign, not letting Snider come up, causing the Halladay trade rumours and commotion, and now waiving Rios out of the team. As long as Ricciardi does not go, this team is going down!
