Name: Matthew Przybysz on Sep 13, 2011Comments: As a recent graduate of the University of Memphis I am ashamed of how far our football program has fallen. The worst thing that can happen to any program is apathy. Apathy is beginning to take root amongst our fan base and that is as damning as the death penalty. We desperately need a change. Mr. Johnson has had ample time as our AD to turn things around and has proven himself unable. With the coming changes in the landscape of college athletics we cannot risk being left behind. There is too much money at stake for our great university. A strong football program is an asset for any university. It helps boost enrollment, alumni support, booster support, university image, merchandise sales, and a BCS conference affiliation (aka money in the University of Memphis' pocket). This is not a time for reassurance via email, this is a time action. This very well might be the last shot we have for a very long time. Hopefully you understand the ramifications to not only the athletic department but also the university in general. If you do, what are you waiting on?Flag

A change HAS to be made before I'll come back. Like someone else said, if the school doesn't care, why should we?Flag

Name: Zach Thomas on Sep 13, 2011Comments: Only change to original language o petition is that an outside firm be hired by university or boosters to search for a new AD. Raines is too focused on education (rightly so maybe) to be able to properly find an AD.Flag
