Comments: I am a recent grad and about a year ago I interviewed and accepted a position in an unrelated field. However, as an entry-level professional, I interviewed with 5 different organizations and was able to choose the position I wanted - as most teachers are able to do. I based my decision on quality of the interview, organization of the company, attitude of employees, and finally salary. If the Leavenworth school district continues to treat it's employees with disrespect and apathy as it has been doing the last couple years, not only will there be no pool of applicants to select from, there will be no applicants period. In my field, I knew which companies to stay away from because they treated their employees badly - USD 453 is quickly being recognized as one of those employers. The administration needs to learn the basics of customer service which includes treating parents and students with respect and courtesy, as well as staff and employees. All of their efforts to thwart fair play in this process will surely be returned upon them now and in the years to come.

Comments: I have had several run in with this man. He has no respect for the teachers or kids in the District. Talk about a power trip.

Comments: He has made some really bad decisions in the last year. Our children are not his priority. We need a superintendant that will look after the wellfare of the students, faculty, and staff.

Comments: arrogance is dangerous, and typically self serving - it has no place in education, especially at the top, far removed from the realities of the classroom!!!

Comments: Simply, he was at odds with board president, Linda Larison. He was protecting the job of the high school principal who was being deployed to Kosovo with the National Guard. The new administration has the high school in turmoil at the present time. One other point of contention - trying to cleanup some questionable practices during state assessments. The rest is just smoke.

Comments: And the superintendent we have now is a three-time DUI offender, with failing schools. Isn't she doing a great job for our district? She and her boyfriend on the school board are such an embarrassment.
