Mr.Pat Lundvall: We the fans, journalists, fighters, and other members of the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) community hereby petition you and the other appointed commission members of the Nevada Athletic Commission to immediately remove Keith Kizer from the position of Executive Director of the NSAC. Mr. Kizer has been made aware of certain issues pertaining to the qualification process and training of MMA unarmed combat officials, in particular judges, on numerous occasions by the entirety of the MMA community and has not only failed to correct these issues but has even gone so far as to deny they exist. As the executive director of the commission, it is Mr. Kizer's duty to ensure that professional and amateur bouts in the state of Nevada are overseen by qualified officials to ensure that all laws, regulations, and rules are complied with and that the events are conducted in a fair and safe manner. On multiple occasions, the judges and referees provided by the NSAC have proven to be unqualified to the point of incompetence in regards to regulating these bouts. Mr. Kizer has been petitioned and asked repeatedly to take steps to remedy the issue of unqualified officials either through more rigorous screening, required training courses, or through alterations in bout scoring systems to limit the subjectivity that often amplifies the issues caused by the use of uneducated or unskilled officials. These officials have a direct impact on the lives and careers of everyone involved with unarmed combat sports. Poor officiating leads not only to fighters losing valuable purse monies and winning bonuses, but also to a smaller fan base that in turn diminishes fight purses, sponsorship monies, ticket sales, ticket prices and other taxable incomes that help fund the commission itself. As Mr. Kizer has proven either unable or unwilling to make the changes necessary to correct these issue, we believe it would be in the best interest of the unarmed combat community, the NSAC, and all other parties involved that Mr. Kizer be immediately replaced with a director who is. Thank you, The Undersigned.
