Whereas it is now official that as of the end of Summer 2010, our local Fire Station#18 will be de-commissioned. At that time its destiny becomes unknown.
Whereas we, the citizens of Capreol & the Greater City of Sudbury, wish to express our interest in the Fire Hall’s future. This is a property which has been an icon in the community for more than 90 years. No other civic building carries more history in the town of Capreol. It should continue to be a town landmark.
We, the undersigned, recommend the Capreol Fire Hall be preserved as a historic site under the Ontario Heritage Act.
