The petition

Dear Mr. McConnell,

We Blue Jackets fans do not have the words needed to thank you for bringing the NHL in Columbus back in 2000. It is well understood that expansion teams like the Blue Jackets take some time to develop. But, it has now been 6 full seasons, and the progress that this team has made has been slim at best. We have a world-class coach in Ken Hitchcock, and we have a superstar in Rick Nash, but there isn't too much else to be excited about. As long as Doug MacLean is GM of the Columbus Blue Jackets, the franchise will go no where. Misjudging talent, overpaying average players, and not knowing how to develop players are only a few of his failures thus far. It is understood that you have respect for the fans of the Blue Jackets (evident in the banner hanging from the rafters), so I encourage you to listen to our opinions and FIRE DOUG MACLEAN!
