Dear Mr. Haslam:
As a lifelong and dedicated Cleveland Browns fan I, along with every signature on this petition, urge you to relieve Mike Lombardi of his position and replace him with either Ray Farmer or another more competent individual. We as Browns fans have been through it all and turned cheek, optimistically telling each other "there's always next year" and looking forward to the draft. We've been through them all. The Holmgrens, Heckerts, Policys, Savages, Palmers, Crenels, Manginis, Chudzinskis...you get the picture. Should I even bother to list the starting quarterbacks since the return to the league in 1999? We've been through them all, and we still cheered. We still showed up clad in orange and brown every bitter Cleveland sunday. This is where we as fans must urge you to draw a line in the sand and say "enough is enough." This is a man who I feel is on course to do irreparable damage to the team in both it's performance and public image, you HAVE to see that it has already begun. In only one year he has shown ineptitude and poor judgement at nearly every turn. He has turned this beloved franchise into the laughing stock of the professional sports world. His decisions are questionable at best and have often blown up in the face of the team. How many Lombardi moves could we actually call a winner this year? Davone Bess? Quentin Groves? What about Charles Johnson and his torn ACL? There aren't enough Brian Hoyer highlights in the world to make up for what Bruce Hooley called "inexcusable personnel gaffes – either via inadequate research or outright wrong judgments on players’ abilities." If this individual continues to manage this team I fear that it will alienate not only fans but skilled players and any/all personnel who would otherwise be interested in being a part of what I (used to, possibly) consider a staple franchise not only in the NFL but in professional sports. You did not purchase this team to lose Mr. Haslam, but rest assured this is the course you are on should this man continue to maintain a position of power in this organization. Please, from the bottom of every Cleveland fan's heart, make a decision to make this team better! We deserve a winner in Cleveland, we deserve consistency and a passion to succeed, and most of all we deserve better then Mike Lombardi.
