George Karl is the most over-rated NBA coach in the league. He has had the benefit of a few good players (Kemp, Payton, Allen, Melo) in his career which have boosted his regular season record. He has never had one good relationship with any of these players. He has "coached" the Nuggets to the playoffs seven straight years and has only made it out of the first-round once. He doesn't properly develop his young talent and depends way too much on his "dependable guys" in the clutch situations regardless of who is playing well. Ty Lawson should be a top-5 point guard in the league by now but his development suffered greatly because of the lack of playing time in his most formative years. For whatever reason he is in love with playing small. Two point guards and no center is his favorite thing to do. He has so much talent on this roster and the deepest bench in the league but he cannot seem to figure out that when one player is playing bad, there are seven other guys on the bench hungry to prove themselves. He has had more than enough time and opportunities in all these years and he is consistently proven that he has taken the Nuggets as far as they will ever be. Yes, he beat cancer and thats great. That does not translate to coaching skills and shouldn't be considered a reason to hang on to him. As a lifelong Nuggets fan I truly believe it is time for George Karl to go. It's time to stop complaining about it and actually try to do something about it.
