I have created this petition to end the reign of tyranny of NHL Commissioner, Gary Bettman. Before Bettman, the NHL NEVER locked out a season. Since he has come into power, there have been three lockouts, one was ended mid-season.
We fans don't go to games to watch the owners count their stacks of $100 bills. We go to watch Datsyuk dangle defenders, to watch Zdeno Chara impose his will on the opponents with his sheer size, we go to see fights, to see Martin Brodeur break records, and most importantly, to see our team win the Stanley cup.
Since Bettman has come to power, he has advocated rules that have eliminated the exciting style of hockey played in the 1990's (See "Fight Night At The Joe" Detroit vs. Colorado, March 26th, 1997 for proof.)
To Gary Bettman, you have done nothing but angered your fan base. You have lost all support. We will go to the games to see our teams. We've had enough. Step down now.
