This statement from a fellow fan should sum up my position: "Since there is no where else to put this figured I would throw it up here, I was just thinking where the Raptors were at the beginning of last years draft and how bad things have gotten. Back at the draft I thought things were starting to look optimistic, were we about to arrive on shore? No. However, we could see the shore infront of us with all the storm clouds behind us. If we had of done nothing but fill the roster in with one year deals our situation would of been: We would of played this season out with Derozan, Jose, Amir, Ross, Jonas, Gray, Kleiza, Ed Davis and Andrea under contract. The year after we would of had Amir, Ross, Jonas, Gray, Kleiza, Ed Davis and Andrea under contract or with players options, totalling a salary of 34.9 million for next season, if we amnestied Bargnani we would of been at 24million with a draft pick boosting it up to about 29million. Imagine having a top 5 pick this year with a core of Amir, Ross, Jonas and Davis to build around along with 30+million in cap space. If we had of waited one more year we would of had another high pick and a great core that has been evaluated to go forward. Instead, we added Landry Fields in order to stop NY from getting a 39year old pg, who we wanted to give a long term deal to. We are now stuck with his bloated contract and didn’t even get the PG, we traded our draft pick for a PG who was nothing more than a back up on good teams. We then signed DD to an unnecessary long term deal, that while isn’t awful value was unncessary. We also traded a young impvong PF on a rookie contract and our starting PG for…an inefficient and over paid wing. While he does bring something to the team he may be the worst contract in the NBA with the new CBA. Then we traded an untested 7’2 Center and a draft pick for a third string PG you could of got in the D-League. While I have liked what I have seen from Ross we had a chance to get Andre Drummond, whose ridiculous potential should of made him the automatic pick. If BC had of done nothing this past year, except amnesty Bargnani and sign guys to one year deals, we would of been in a great situation, instead it was like he saw the shore and the storm clouds and turned back into the storm. The only thing this proves is that a monkey could do a better job managing the Raptors than BC. I do not think he could of done a worse job with this team, turning a positive situation into arguably the worst situation in the NBA; no flexibility, no draft pick, a top 7 payroll and still no playoffs." LETS SPEAK OUT AND PREVENT BRYAN COLANGELO FROM GETTING ANOTHER EXTENSION AS THE RAPTORS GM. AFTER SEVEN YEARS OF EMPTY PROMISES AND POOR DECISIONS, WE ARE POISED TO MISS THE PLAYOFFS FOR A RECORD FIFTH STRAIGHT TIME. WHY GIVE THIS MAN MORE MONEY FOR HIS FAILURES? WOULD YOU HIRE AN EMPLOYEE WHO CONSISTENTLY UNDERACHIEVES BUT TAKES ADVANTAGE OF YOUR MONEY? CANADA DESERVES BETTER, SO LETS SHOW SOME PRIDE AND PREVENT THE MAPLE LEAFS SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT GROUP TO RESIGN A MAN WHO HAS FAILED HIS FANS.
