Ports of Jersey has granted us a permanent mooring for Elektra. I am honestly in shock that this worked out and I know this result is entirely due to the people who took the time to sign. We have some work ahead to get her ready for guests, but for …

We need your help to find our tugboat Elektra a permanent mooring in Jersey. She has been dazzled by Jersey artist Ian Rolls and we will be instructing other Jersey artists to use her as their canvas. We would like to offer her as a holiday let to locals and tourists with the odd events taking place now and then. Currently we only have till she has been refurbished to stay where she is. If you would like to see her remain in Jersey and operate as a holiday let then please sign this petition including any comments or suggestions for location.

Some might have the view that an ex USA army tugboat has nothing to do with Jersey. In principal this is correct however she has been in Jersey for over 20 years and has now been transformed into a work of art. She could offer Jersey a unique attraction for tourists and also locals. She comes with plenty of fascinating history that we would love to share with all those who will listen.

We need to demonstrate to 'Ports of Jersey' that there is interest from both locals and tourists in providing her for let so please share this petition to everyone even if they are not in Jersey but think it is a good idea.

Once in operation as a holiday let we will be able to raise much needed revenue to enable Elektra to set sail to sea with passengers. In order to allow anyone on board we need to comply with certain health and safety regulations which will require a lot of investment. We feel the best way to achieve our final goal of enabling school children and others on board to learn about WW1, Dazzle Ships, tugboats is by using the holiday let income to re-invest in Elektra and purchase the necessary equipment and provide the correct access so that she conforms to strict regulations. It is going to be a long process but one we believe children of the future and Jersey will benefit from.

Thank you for your support in advance

I truly never imagined that two hundred and fifty people would care about the future of a tugboat. This is entirely down to your kindness and your belief in what Elektra can bring to our home. Thank you for showing me that I was not alone in this dream.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have taken the time to support Elektra. We are nearing a new milestone and I wonder if anyone could help us reach it by passing this along to someone who loves our island history.

as annual tourists to Jersey, we're surprised to learn the Dazzle Ship has no permanent mooring. All of our family enjoy visiting her. You should be PROUD Ports of Jersey! She's a great asset and the proposed plans are a good idea. Otherwise we'd love to have her here in Bristol Harbour!

Was delighted to be asked to crane bits and pieces on and off of Electra including the piano for the party! Electra needs a birth, she's a work of art and a credit to her owner and his family. I wish them well and have no doubt that this piece of history could become part of Jersey's Tourism arsenal of attractions!

What is wrong with this island. A fantastic idea, this is what jersey tourism need, there are lot,s of budding artists, that spend a lot of money on painting holidays all over the world, to stay on a boat, painted by local artists, and paint the views, please keep the Electra local.

Having been brought up in St Aubin I think Elektra should be moved to st Aubin and put where la Mauve used to be moored it would brighten up the corner and bring visitors to St Aubin ,I really can't believe any one would be against this

What a shame if she were not allowed to stay. After all it looks like an awful lot of effort has gone into the restoration/artwork on this wonderful old tug boat. Every time I drive past she's surrounded by tourists now that has got to be a positive thing for Jersey !

I think this boat should have a perminent moring some were all can see ie. tourist, school children and locals. It's a great bit of art work and history. I didn't know about dazzle ships until this was painted and think it's a good idear for the youth of today to learn some good history.
