We pay sales taxes on everything but the financial sector does not. Why should they be exempt? They even charge us an origination fee when we borrow money from them that they get pretty much interest free from the government. I understand that they don't want to pay sales tax on their financing. I don't want to pay it on anything I buy either. But, I have to. Why shouldn't they? Iam not asking for the full sales tax amount most states charge. Just 1% on all borrowed money paid to the feds.Every mortgage,carloan,every borrower ,everywhere. Borrow to buy stocks,or a leveraged buyout of a company friendly or hostile,pay the 1%. Let's include the seller,too. Sellyour stock,sell your company,sell aloan,..1% to the treasury please. !% won't stop a deal nor will it hurt much. Lets apply a 1% fee to the financial sector.
