This is a petition for a film festival to be held somewhere in Limerick city to promote Irish and foreign Independent movies. Since the recent closing down of the Belltable there is no place in Limerick which shows independent movies, leading to a drop in the cultural activities available to our city. I believe that this is a big mistake and needs to be corrected in some way and I think that a film festival will promote people to step outside of the "mainstream" and look at the many wonderful independent movies that are out there. This won't go ahead unless some interest is shown.
