Comments: Please help the competitors prepare for Figure shows by outlining specific criteria (more than "fitness without the routine".

Comments: Yes, something more definitive would help competitors prepare better. This may even help narrow down how many women actually appear on stage. Right now there are competitors who look like models, some who look like bodybuilders, and some who are experimenting with competition and missing the mark entirely. Unlike fitness, there isn't a 'standard' to compare yourself to when trying to make the decision as to whether or not you're competition ready. If mandatory poses are made part of the judging, somehow it would have to be made to appear different than just very lightweight bodybuilders on stage.

Comments: I feel that the figure competitors should be held to the same standards physique wise as the top Pro Fitness competitors with semetry held to the highest standard. It's not a bikini contest. The girls should look like they lift weights.

Comments: I support the athletes in their quest to have judging criteria standardized for Figure competitions. The current system is unacceptable.

Comments: Something needs to be laid out to whereas we know how to prepare ourselves.... The FIRST figure division, years back, had a posing type routine in heels that showed off the physiques...i would like that reinstated!

Comments: I would definetely like to know what I should do so that I can do better. I just competed and felt the judging was correct for me, but I had no idea what to expect before the competition. I now have an idea about what they are looking for but would still like more information.

Comments: Is figure about being a soft model or a slightly less lean bodybuilder Figure is a great way to attract more people to the fitness community, but it needs to be standardized so that its integrity can survive! As a competitor, it is extremely disappointing to prepare for a show and find that the judges were looking for some other esthetic "look" (be that harder or softer). Standardization please!!

Comments: When I began training clients for figure 3 years ago, I thought they would be judged the same as fitness competitors, without the routine. There are 20 million curvy soft women in the world, big deal. We need to put athletes on the stage. Jiggly asses and huge boobs shouldn't be the gold standard...

Comments: Something needs to be done about the blatant conflict of interest with a judges son benefitting financially from competition results! He (& his father) should both both come under scrutiny for their constant harrassment & victimisation of athletes who are not signed to JMP Management!

Comments: It would be nice to see some consistency in the judging. I understand it is subjective, but atleast be on the same playing field. It would also be nice to tell a difference between the body builders and the figure competitors. Both have amazing physiques, but there is already a body building category. Figure should be more about a well but not over developed fit feminine pyhsique, on stage presence and composure, not poses, body symmetry, not size, hair and skin complexion (make-up, etc...) The total package. But that is just my opinion!

Comments: As a competitor myself I like the look of nice round muscle, not soft by any means but not the ripped look. The sport needs to get away from the drugs, we are supposed to be the picture of health. It's pretty bad when figure girls are on drugs.

Comments: I am glad to see that there is now a contest where you don't have to have a routine. But, I agree with the statement above and believe that the judging should be more specific, and give the women "a target to aim for", rather than making them guess at what the judges might look for. I think that they won't feel as though they spent months and years shaping a body that doesn't let them win. =)

Comments: these girls put so much time, effort and money into doing a figure show it would be better for everyone if there were guidlines for the girls to know what the judges will be looking for "for every show"

Comments: I am a Figure competitor, and even though I have excelled in just the short time I have competed, and will be at National Championships this coming weekend in New York, I just got back from the Master nationals in Pittsburgh. I won my class, but when I got to the finals it was very obvious that there was not fairness with the decission on the overall. The whole place, let the judges they were not happy and I had alot of people tell me how obvious it was that I got robbed. I am a competitor and as an athlete you need to let it roll and go on. It is a subjective sport and even though I have won and overall championship, I believe they need to be more consistent with their dicissions and not so back and forth. It is very confusing and not fair. If someone looks real good and I go up against them and they win then I believe it is fair and square, but when you know that something is going on and the whole audience can tell then something needs to change.

Comments: It's amazing when I see the photo results of the figure competitions...and then I see who the winner is...I've been seeing a lot of winners in figure competitions who look as if they should be entering in a lightweight division in bodybuilding. I think figure is an excellent option for fitness women, but if women knew what would be judged and what sort of physique is ideal, then perhaps the competition would increase and perhaps some would be transferring to bodybuilding instead. I myself would love to do a figure round, but again, I don't even know what I shape I should come in...hope to see some changes in the future. Thanks!!
