As of now the league rules on fighting during a game read as follows: --Start Quote Expulsions are called at the discretion of the Head Referee. A skater will be automatically expelled from the game for serious, gross aggravated offenses: Vulgarity, Flagrant Threats, Physical Abuse or Severe Unnecessary Roughness. Physical and verbal misconduct directed towards the referee may result in possible expulsion from the game. Any skater expelled from the game must immediately exit the track and return to the locker room. If a Captain is unable to control the conduct of her team members, the Referee may invoke any of the following: a. One minute or Two minute penalties, and/or Jammer removal b. Expulsion c. Game Forfeiture d. Suspension Recommendation --End Quote A group of concerned skaters would like to propose that the above rules be amended to the following only in regard to fighting: *** In the interest of showmanship, limited play fighting between two players who are consenting and deem it appropriate is allowed. Both players will be ejected from the game immediately following the fight and there will be further penalties against both teams if the fights exceed more than 2-3 per game. ** THIS IS A PETITION IN FAVOR OF A SIMPLE UP OR DOWN VOTE AT THE NEXT LEAGUE MEETING on April 9, 2006.
