The Petition
We agree that the introduction of the CIP pricing system without full engagement with the pharmacy sector, and the errors made in prescription pricing subsequently, are unacceptable, and we call on the Department of Health to act as below:
COMPENSATION
Pay more compensation to pharmacy contractors in recognition of the additional burden caused by ongoing problems with prescription pricing
REDEVELOPMENT
Commit to developing a new prescription pricing and payment system, and confirm that pharmacy contractors will be involved in designing and piloting that system
TRANSPARENCY
Improve transparency in the current system in the meantime, with this to be led and informed by a working group of pharmacists and pharmacy contractors
