Given that their zoning (official plan amendment) OPA 21 already allows tourist related activities on 22 acres of their 80 acre farm, and that the Prince Edward County Planning Department already acknowledges that tourist related activities includes accommodations, we believe Lynne Ellis and Mark Henry should be able to have their application for accommodations approved without further delay, subject only to meeting the requirements for proper septic disposal and by demonstrating that they will have no impact on the water supplies of the properties that border on them.

Lynne and Mark have operated Fields on West Lake http://www.fieldsonwestlake.com for 5 years. For almost 3 years now they have been trying to add accomodations to their operation. Each time they try to apply to the Planning Department they have been told their application is incomplete. Background - Each year their business attracts, on average, over 4000 visitors to Prince Edward County who need meals and far more accommodations than the property could ever hope to have on site. Mark and Lynne are also the founders of the fully, not for profit, Prince Edward County Marathon http://www.pecmarathon.ca which attracts approximately 500-1000 visitors needing meals and accommodations - each year runners complain they can't find places to stay. We know we have a great deal of public support for what we are doing - your help would really be appreciated.
