Goggles or Concussions?

When the Internation Hockey Federation, and the U.S.A. Field Hockey approved goggles, what really were they thinking? Have they ever seen a game, or experienced it? It is a known fact that when players wear the goggles they aren't protected, if anything, they are more vulnerable. Why, because the area protected by the goggles (just the eyes to the sides of the face) is not where typical injuries can originate from (mostly the mouth, the stomach, and chest). More likely, they can cause a concussion or serious injury from the pressure that can be applied to the surounding area/goggles from the hard plastic surface. So is this rule really safe, or just a weak attempt to stabilize their importance to the public. Everywhere hockey enthusiasts, and coaches alike are infuriated by this rule, and the question still remains, "Aren't you too?"
