Name: Tom Aubrey And Christine Aubrey on Jul 20, 2010Comments: Any road death in England is scrupulously investigated. The fact that this happened at traffic lights indicates some driver must be at fault and I do not understand why this accident is not automatically fully investigated by the police. PLease make sure a full investigation takes place. Tom and Christine AubreyFlag

Name: Val Roberts on Jul 20, 2010Comments: Aileen's family deserve a full official investigation such as would have happened had the accident occurred in Scotland. There were witnesses who should be interviewed. The crash site and the vehicles should be examined and a reconstruction of what happened made by a road traffic construction expert. Anything short of that would be a clear abdication of responsibility on the part of the authorities and a damning indictment of the law enforcement and legal system in NYC.Flag

It pains me to see school and fire house closings due to budget shortcomings when we have a veritable cash cow of delinquent drivers from whom to glean resources.Flag

Name: Samantha Lucas on Jul 20, 2010Comments: From the outset, this terrible tragedy has had an air of something "fishy" going on with the driver that struck Mrs McKay-Dalton. The news reports all note that the SUV driver was wearing a gun and holster. The eye witness reports seem unanimous that the SUV jumped through the red light. And the NYPD were quick to state there is no further proceedings or investigation. If there is truly no wrong doing then an investigation should not concern any parties. We need to get to the bottom of what happened. Three children are without a mother and a devoted husband without his partner of nearly 3 decades. We owe them answers.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 21, 2010Comments: Because of aggressive and reckless driving in our pedestrian neighborhoods, I'm afraid to ride a bicycle. We live in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. My four-year-old son rides his scooter, and even though we are extremely cautious, I'm always terrified of a reckless driver tearing around a corner. An urban environment is one where a person of any age should feel safe to ride a scooter, bike, etc. It's good for everyone.Flag
