Name: Clifford Fee on Jul 16, 2010Comments: We need to stop the endless killing of our citizens by motor vehicle. Three hundred deaths a year in New York City is three hundred too many. When people dive recklessly they need to be held accountable. The police need to enforce our traffic laws.Flag

Name: Whitney Kemper on Jul 16, 2010Comments: I live on Greene Ave between Bedford and Franklin Ave very close to where this incident occurred. It is a daily occurrence to see motorists flaunting the speed limit. For the sake of justice and the future of our community, I demand that this incident be investigated fully and that if criminal negligence is uncovered, that it be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.Flag

Name: Kelly Fitzgerald on Jul 16, 2010Comments: Please have the mayor and the commissioner address this matter. Aileen loved living in NYC and it is very disturbing that she was killed here, let alone not having her death thoroughly investigated by the City. She certainly deserves it. She could have lived any where in the world, raised her family any where. She chose Brooklyn. NYC owes her and her family a thorough investigation.Flag

Name: Richard Griffin on Jul 17, 2010Comments: This situation MUST be investigated. Two vehicles were in the intersection at the same time, so one ran the red light. Witnesses say the SUV ran the light, and as a result, a mother of three is dead. A crime was committed, and I am determined to make sure that justice is done.Flag

Name: Mr. James C. PETERSON on Jul 17, 2010Comments: after ten years (newly arrived in this area) of observing traffic flow through the intersection involved in this tragedy, I came to the conclusion - about nine years ago ! - that drivers approaching this intersection, anticipate their (now sloping downward) Flatbush-bound-goal, by gunning their vehicles through this light AND CONTINUE their acceleration to get to the Vanderbilt cross/light (n.b. the signposting that DOT is trying-out a new time-sequence light-change is irrelevant since this ignorant behavior is NOT changed by slower sequencing, but may even make their dangerous behavior worse...!), AND as a result put in danger all pedestrians in their driving perimeter; secondly, the number of drivers (as a result) switching to use the cross streets (to avoid the DeKalb drivers and get to Manhattan faster), in this case Clinton Avenue, has INCREASED and leads to further danger for pedestrians, and consequentially other drivers who jump their red lights, both ways; the 88th has been useless in monitoring/enforcing this (and other complaint calls by citizens - per my, albeit limited, two calls per year to the 88th that never get picked-up!), these two cross-currents ended at 5:30, when, though presumptively - but it was car vs scooter! - he gunned his car through his red light on Clinton Ave; please, enforce speeding limits/red-light running in this neighborhood against egocentric, law and people-disrespecting ignorant drivers, and save othersFlag
