Name: Paul Moore on Jul 2, 2008Position: Marketing DirectorCompany: Community Foods LtdComments: Disbanding FFB is a very short sighted act. Exports account for 14% of our business and this year are growing at over 20% - a result of many years of investment and support, aided by FFB who have provided contacts, support and a central platform against which British produce can make an impact in a highly competitive market.Flag

Name: Tim Harrap on Jul 2, 2008Position:Company: North Downs Dairy CoComments: I have already written to Lord Digby Jones on this subject who then copied Lord Rooker. This work needs support, without doubt; not only for food companies in the UK but for the wider benefit of Great Britain PLC. Food as ever is a central focus of cultural exchange and we need the "pillar" of Government to get behind the theme.Flag

Name: Matthew Nash on Jul 2, 2008Position: Director of International DevelopmentCompany: Global EthicsComments: Having worked in, for and with FFB as an employee and latterly as a client and Fast Track member, I have observed how UK companies and their international partners have benefitted greatly from the operations and assistance of FFB. I can think of numerous brands that would not be exporting were it not for the assistance of the organisations. The move to terminate support for FFB will in essence be a removal of support for small to medium sized companies - these organisations will in effect be penalised for the problems encountered by DEFRA recently. many who actively consider exporting will have to encounter hurdles and barriers to international business development that cold have been easily dealt with if using FFB's expertise. In addition the message being sent out to the industries international competitors, the trade and consumers is entirely negative. Having just attended a reception where a leading diplomat extolled the virtues and quality of British food and drink, it seems truly ironic that the British government's way of expressing this view is to shut FFB.Flag

You are a mean spirited lot DEFRA and worse just hopeless and coming to the right conclusions about anything to do with fine food exports. It should be save FFB and scrap bloody DEFRA john carrFlag
