Name: Cornelis Galama on Jul 1, 2008Position: DirectorCompany: Interflow food brokersComments: It would be a sad loss to the British food industrie if FFB International were to be closed down. It is already trailing the German and French equivalents by 20 years.Flag

Name: Sir Paul Judge on Jul 1, 2008Position: former ChairmanCompany: Food from BritainComments: Food from Britain provides a huge benefit for the UK food and drink industry. Its government funding has always been less than its French, German and Irish competitors. However the decision by the government now to cease all funding is totally against the statements by the Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for BERR, and the Minister for the UKTI, Digby, Lord Jones, that the government wishes to encourage small and medium enterprises, especially in their export endeavours.Flag

Name: David Taylor on Jul 1, 2008Position: Deputy Managing DirectorCompany: Fredericks Dairies LtdComments: We at Fredericks Dairies have been exporting to Europe with the help of Food From Britain for over 10 years. As an independent business, with a small, largely UK focused commercial team, without their help it would have been impossible to devote the time or resources to developing this business. As a consequence, should Food From Britain cease to be supported by the UK government, it is likely that much of our export business will come to an end within a year or two.Flag

Name: Patrick Davis on Jul 1, 2008Position: Managing DirectorCompany: Food Consulting LtdComments: I was fortunate enough to be CEO of FFB from 1994 to 2000 and was greatly saddened when I heard that the British Government was to stop funding. The team at FFB worked hard to help many businesses over the years and helped to build significant exports of food & drink. If the International Directors are prepared to continue to provide help and advice to companies I believe the Government should support this in some way.Flag

Name: Anthony (Tony) Matthews on Jul 1, 2008Position: PresidentCompany: MatthewsInternationalIncComments: FFB has successfully pursuaded a large number of importers, distributors and retailers in the companies in which they operate to purchase British food and beverages. This is a continuing process in continually changing conditions , and increasing competition. It needs first hand knowledge and contacts with food people which only the staff of FFB have been able to provide. The staff at the DTI, embassies and consulates do not have these qualifications.Flag
