| 647 | James | Spell | Arverne | 11692 | I think having ferry service from the Rockaways to Manhattan is a great start! However there are some suggestions that I would make to make this service easily accessible for everyone:
1. As many suggested, buiding another ferry terminal on B 116 St. Not only will the ferry be easily accessible to the residents in Breezy Point and Neponsit,, it will make it easily accessible for the residents in Rockaway Park, Hammels and Arverne.
2. Offer more ferry service during rush hours, between the hours of 5 AM-8 AM & 3 PM-8 PM. Offer service during non rush hours. Offer more weekend service for those people (like myself) that don't like taking the A train into Manhattan.
3. Perhaps in the future offer 24 hour ferry service, like the Staten Island Ferry.
I personally believe if you consider implementing these suggestions, you will create a better alternative means of transportation into Manhattan for all residents of the Rockaways! |
