| 507 | Nadine | Corney | Arverne | 11692 | A ferry system from the Rockaways to Manhattan would be a great asset to the community. The subway system is terrible (filthy and very slow) and the buses take a very long time, especially since we don't have off peak express bus service. Since there are more new people moving into the area each month, a quicker alternate route into Manhattan is more of a necessity instead of a luxury. |

| 532 | dorenda | bainbridge | breezy point | 11697 | Departing Riis landing at 7am, going to Bay Ridge area. Arriving back at Riis landing @ 3pm. My daughter as well as many other high school students from the Rockaways will be attending schools in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Public transportation is not an option in that it would take over 2 hours to get from Breezy Point to her school located on 99th St. & Shore Road. There is a private bus but it costs @$2,000 per year. Yes, it sounds outrageous but then consider that this is really the cost for one way only because most students would miss the departing bus since they participate in after school activities and you really get angry. So we decide now to car pool, sounds great, after all it's only takes about 23 minutes to the school taking the Belt Parkway, doable! Well, now I find myself sitting in an hour long traffic jam because work is being done on the Verrazano. As if that wasn't bad enough I hear it will continue for maybe the next five years!!! Something has to be done and ferry service seems to be the most viable solution. Mr. Bloomberg suggests that improving on bus transportation will ease congestion. Why would anyone from this area opt to spend three times the amount of time taking a bus or train to the city? The problem is there is no direct MTA route from the Rockaways to the city. We need to look at our waterways for the answer to the roadway congestion and be able to offer Rockaway an affordable means of tranportation which would, at long last, connect us to the rest of New York. |

| 542 | Anonymous | Anonymous | Ozone Park, Queens NY | 11417 | Though I'm not a resident of the Rockaways. I would take the ferry. Anything to get off that horrible A Train. Since the city provide no alternative to Downtown Manhattan from Southwest Queen, this is a ray of sunshine. I would like to know if there will be parking facilities? If so how many spots. I would like to see ferries at 7:00 Am; 7:30 Am and 8 AM; for PM service 4:30; 5pm and 5:30 pm. |

| 546 | Patrick | Tubridy | Ft. Lauderdale | 33301 | As a frequent visitor to the New York area and the Rockaways especially. I am always looking for a new route to get into the city. A ferry would be sufficient. there should also be water taxis throughout the New York Harbor. It is what is done in Ft. lauderdale. |
