Many of us have noticed the dramatic limitations introduced to the FEI Dressage Rules for Eventing that appeared early in 2015. Amongst the changes were the removal of the Mullen Mouth and Baucher bits as well as a certain class of bits with rotating middle pieces. Further restrictions were introduced demanding that very specific dimensions must be adhered to in the cannons, links and middle pieces (beans, lozenges etc.) of any of the remaining permitted bits. The resulting limitation on allowable bits restricts horses and riders from optimising their performance and maximising on horse welfare by restricting choice .

We the hereby signed require that the FEI consider its rules for bitting solely on the following considerations:

1. Welfare for the horse

2. Safety for the horse and rider
