It is plenty easy to get a drink in S Baltimore as it is today. Megabars will negatively, not positively, affect me as a resident here. Please remember that floks live here too!Flag

Name: Kurt Sailor on Apr 17, 2007Comments: I am a homeowner at 803 William Street. There is a whole list of problems associated with increased drunk young adults in our neighborhood. 1) The extra noise and vandalism 2) The already difficult parking situation will only be worse. 3) The newly forming, high class retail will be at risk of vandalism plus the area will lose its cultural charm 4) The drunks tend to provide the homeless with money, which they use to most likely purchase drugs. The economic gain for these bars are at the expense of the neighborhoods. Stop this NOW.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 17, 2007Comments: it's obviously already too late...about 5 or 6 years too late......in addition it's time to stop having the "festivals" in federal hill which are not much more than beer brawls for young drunkards from out of the neighborhood......Flag

Name: Gayle A. McClure on May 17, 2007Comments: I am tired of cleaning up broken bear bottles from my sidewalk and gutter every weekend and having drunks urinate in or vandalize my flowers. I don't mind having entertainment establishments in the area if they are in keeping with the character of the neighborhood. These Bars are not frequented by locals.Flag

Name: Rob Bennett on May 17, 2007Comments: As a long-time neighbor, I welcome business to the neighborhood. But those businesses need to stay in-line with the expectations and concerns of their neighbors. On behalf of my neighbors and my own chlidren, and the neighborhood we all live in and value, I applaud this petition. Good business, even bars, is fine. Greed and out-of-control drinking is another thing. And that is what I see becoming of the proposed changes to these establishments.Flag
