653 ElizabethTrezWe DO NOT need a new courthouse at all!!! Secondly, it should be downtown, not in a residential area.
654 ThomasTrezThere are many other suitable locations that do not require the destruction of existing viable properties.
655 AnonymousAnonymousPut the courthouse at 6th and Reilly!

665 BillFinnertyDowntown Harrisburg is a thriving, economic success. Leave it alone to grow and at the same time enhance the Midtown area's economic growth.

669 DeborahFilipiI find it a tragedy to tear down The Winter Group Building and the Payne-Shoemaker Building on North Third Street because both buildings reflect important periods in American architecture.

672 HilaryMichelsAs a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, I can attest to the positive growth and development of the Midtown area. The 6th and Reily site would be accessible and more convenient. Also, to create such a huge hole downtown in the middle of "restaurant row" would deter pedestrian traffic. Tearing down existing (successful) businesses to create a courthouse that does not generate revenue for the city would be a waste.

676 PaulCareyRight is Right and Wrong is Wrong. It's only right to keep businesses thriving and not run them out of downtown Harrisburg. The Court can encourgage new business and a new community by it's mere presence.

691 IdrisCoxThough I've only lived in downtown Harrisburg for less than a year, it has quickly become my home. Building a courthouse in the middle of restaurant row would really be a disaster and remove the flavor of my new home.
692 AnonymousAnonymousI was born in Harrisburg, educated and married (1st time) in Harrisburg, worked from the age of nine thru 35, in the "burg" at more jobs (in the early years) than I care to remember. But, what I do remember most is the way in which the constant misinformation by the city, county, state and federal "spin" masters served to do nothing other than continual unrest among the fantastic citizens of that great city. It always seemed to me that the "little" people (politcians) could never make the easy decisions. Such is the case with the new FED courthouse debacle: you take a rather shameful and pathetic administration that has sullied the hallowed ground of Washington, D.C., who are incapable of cooperating with a successful and forward thinking city government the likes of which has never been seen in Harrisburg. Alas, the even smaller people in DC, again decided that it was too much for them, so why not destroy a perfectly good building, pit business and homeowners against one-another, instill fear in various neighborhoods with rumors of forced relocations and consistant news media articles that for the most part had no substance. They have shown us once again, where there is a way to rip-off TAXPAYER funds, they will Find the will to do that which comes naturally to those who perfected the art of election manipulation along with going to war without the approval of the citizenry, or the CONGRESS. However, I see the crew coming to take away my soapbox so, I better close this epistle with this thought--closedown COURT ST., purchase whatever property would be necessary to put an addition on the "old" courthouse building. Who knows, the powers that be could then end up receiving praise for possibly saving taxpayers money; money they don't have anyway.
693 AnonymousAnonymousThe U.S. GSA is a bunch of bullies in my book.
