Who is liable for the environmental clean up of Lac Megantic, 3 companies have been named but the major one MMA has already declared bankruptcy meanwhile costs have ballooned to well over 7.7 million dollars a figure which does not include the rebuilding of the town core itself. The army,well trained well disciplined to respond to crisis would be ideally suited for the initial cleanup task and even the rebuilding. Why does Canada have an army, we're not at war but we spend millions of dollars training, housing, keeping them fed etc... Wouldn't their "expertise" be better put to work doing something of this nature, we're paying them regardless and railways do fall under Federal jurisdiction it's therefore more than appropriate it's needed.Please sign this petition and show your support for the citizens of Lac Megantic.
