   Comments: I have wanted to join track and field for so long. Now I hear it has been canceled. I am devestated by this unfortunte news. I wanted to join because track and field it is not only fun, but it's also a way to develop stronger leg muscles (as I am also a figure skater). I would have participated in other sports programs but planned my schedule around the spring track schedule. So please please please let us run. I dont think it matters if we have to run in the rain or snow. HELLO WE LIVE IN ALASKA! It rains (and snows) here 24/7. Floyd Dryden Student

   Comments: I am not planning on being on the track and field team or whatever but some people I know feel that they would be completely devistated if there was not a team. We are Alaskans and should be able to handle some snow. The students would participate in Track and Field do so because they want to which means that they are probably up for running in the snow. What the school boards that decide don't realize is that maybe they think that it is to dangerous but they don't give students a chance to speak. They do what they feel they want to not who it is going to affect. They should ask the students opinion before they decide that they are going to cancel an entire season of anything. Personally I think that there should be at least a couple student on the school board to speak out for the kids this is affecting instead of just adults who it really doesn't matter. It saves time for an adult because they don't have organize things. If there was a student they could speak to the school board and tell them that they are being stupid by closing a season just because there is a little snow on the ground.
