Name: Christina Pinto on Apr 26, 2007Comments: Legislation really needs to look at other programs to cut money from besides programs that help the disabled. These citizens have already been given the short end of the stick; why make it that much shorter. How bout not taking raises, quit feeding more money into the "no smoking" campaigns and put it to where it will make a BIGGER difference in someone's life.Flag

In the next year he will graduate from the public school system at which time all the services currently provided by Hillsborough County Schools will stop. The services funded by the Department of Persons with Disabilities will allow him to continue participating in our community and have a fulfilling life. ThanksFlag

Name: Michael E. Robertson on Apr 26, 2007Comments: As a sibling of a Florida resident with Developmental Disabilities, I can attest absoultely that legistaltion is essential and necessary to protect the health and well-being of these people. Without funding for these crucial services, a vast majority of these people will find themselves destitude and without recourse for even the most basic elements of daily living support. Without funding, the plight of these people will be compounded and may very well create social conditions that have economic consequences greater than funding sought to provided basic support.Flag
