Action Request: F.C.C. please (1) increase the cap on yearly funding for e-Rate, and (2) allow e-Rate to be used to support both on-campus and off-campus Internet access.

Education is the key to a child's future. Education is the time-proven way to better one’s lot in life. Having all-the-time, everywhere access to the Internet is a critically important enabler of a world-class education in this new Age of Mobilism. But, American K-12 schools are challenged to provide Internet access for all children. The F.C.C. can address this challenge by (1) increasing the e-Rate funding cap so all American schools can use e-Rate to provide Internet access, and by (2) no longer distinguishing between on-campus and off-campus Internet access, which will enable all children - especially those from the “have-not” families – in school and outside of school to have access to America’s wireless infrastructure. These two changes will engender a major transformation in America’s K-12 schools and enable all children – rich, poor, urban, suburban, white, of color, short, tall, etc., etc. – to have access to a world-class education in this new Age of Mobilism.
