We are asking you to sign our online petition to represent the baseball and softball community in Fairfax County by supporting the need to build a 70'/90' (ages 11u - 99u) multi-field complex and additional artificial turf fields.
The FCPA is currently conducting a Needs Assessment Study that is done every decade to determine what park needs there are in Fairfax County.
The 70'/90' Diamond baseball community is the only significant sports group that doesn't have a single multi-field complex to host local, regional or national tournaments. That is an equity issue.
As of today, there are 48 rectangular turf fields in Fairfax County with more coming and only 2 diamond turf fields with no more currently on the way. We support all sports in the area and recognize that there are more rectangular users in the county than diamond users but that number is nowhere near the 25-to-1 rectangular to diamond turf field ratio that exists today. That number doesn't even reach 3-to-1.
Diamond sports- fast and slow pitch softball and baseball.
Rectangular sports- soccer, football, lacrosse
