Name: Anonymous on Nov 7, 2007Comments: Yet another poor service level for European Mac users. Apple's own advertising runs at five to six times as fast on my web connection as the Apple Web Galleries, and although the speed has increased slightly over the five or six weeks this problem has been reported, I am still not getting speeds fast enough to run videos for family members, nor even to upload them, nor slideshows that show the fully loaded pic. Using Apple's own Activity Monitor to measure the speeds I am usually getting between 77 and 120 kbps, but mostly at the lower end of this range. I am very annoyed since I bought a Family Pack for both .Mac and for iLife 08 just because the Web Galleries sounded so good. I now feel like I have been sold a pig in a poke and Apple have lost a ton of my goodwill.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 7, 2007Comments: 2Mbit ADSL at Norway. My .Mac subscription expires september next year, but the speed of the .Mac service is not acceptable. In addition to being capped to about 80kB/s on an average (activity monitor), movies must be FULLY downloaded before they can be watched (no watching as they download!). With my 2Mbit ADSL I can see several .Mac movies at once, all with an average dl speed of 80kb/s. Downloading any other video or so directly from Apple's pages is way faster. I hope this petition will make Apple reconsider the speed of this service outside of the US.Flag
