Name: Janie Lee on Sep 15, 2003State:Country: USComments: As I watched all of this unfold from the first day Mindfreedom mentioned they were having a strike on an email and asked for volunteers until the direct fast was given up. I wondered what would happen. Then I watched and marveled at the patience, diligence, and wisdom that was shown by the strikers and the panelist. I watched as the media ignored or slanted the news not much in our direction, but toward the ones who are already established with false truth and no facts. The fact is if they had proof of what they are expounding they could have wrapped it up in a neat little package and given it to us. They could have in fact broken it down for the press that did pay attention. The APA, the Surgeon Geneal, and NAMI are playing with people's lives out of greed and a lack of better ways of doing things, what is right about that I for one will stand up and just say no to forced drugging and treatment now that I know right from wrong. I will no longer curtsey to their establishment. I hope that lots of other people will be willing to just stand up and say no to. There is and has to be a better way for all of us and now we just need to find a way to get the truth out.Flag

Name: Laurie Brewer on Oct 2, 2003State: CACountry: USComments: The APA and NAMI must not have the proof the fasters requested since they did not provide them with it. Many people are given inadequate mental health care and even harmful mental health care by the mental health care system. This system needs a complete overhaul. People seeking mental health counselling should be treated with respect and should not be treated in a condescending or abusive way.Flag
