Target: Head office of YouTube Too many users on YouTube have been given false DMCA complaints and their accounts have been either suspended or terminated as the result of that. The sad part about this is that the DMCA system doesn't ask for evidence from the user making the complaint. To make it worse, filing false DMCAs is a weapon used by users as a form of censorship because their views and opinions are different than other people's. You can help end the cycle of abuse in the DMCA system. Please send a letter to the head office of YouTube, asking for improvement of the DMCA system and make it harder for users to make false DMCA complaints. Let's work together to tell YouTube and the users making false DMCAs that enough is enough.

Keith Gutierrez, United States5 years ago Comments: The Flag/DMCA policy on YouTube must change to acknowledge the necessity of proper investigation of such claims as well as repercussions for those who make blatantly false accusations in attempts to remove those with whom they disagree. It is too easy to get away with filing a false DMCA on YouTube (one of the biggest social networks of all time) and far easier still to flag comments and videos into oblivion. The current system offers a loaded gun to every YouTube user out there to be used against free speech itself. Penalties should be adjusted and careful attention should be given to each case. That's hardly unreasonable, is it?
