Comments: There is a lot of resistance to change (quite similar to Newton's famed concept of 'inertia'!!) when it comes to implementing currently available technology to cricketing. Obviously, technology will remove bias and make things more fair, although in some cases it may make a genuine mistake (example, in predicing the height of the bounce during lbw determinations). Here are some of the pros and cons. 1. "The umpires will have less control" Come one you Umpires, dont be such control freaks! If you were so much against technology, why are you not travelling to work on horseback instead of using your cars! Use technology to make a decision; the third umpire can still have the final say ... thus a human is still supervising a machine ... no worries!\ 2. "It will slow the game down" If it is good enough for tennis and rugby, why not cricket Especially Test Cricket ... You have 5 days to play Test Cricket, instead of a few hours for a tennis match or a rugby match ... Please dont complain about lack of time, it's ridiculous! 3. "It's not foolproof ... errors will still occur" Let MAN still override the MACHINE ... no argument about it! Give each player 3 'challenges' per innings ... 3 strikes and he is out! IE, if he is proved wrong on 3 challenges, he is automatically out! Of course, a successful challenge should not reduce the number of remaining challenges in the innings. In fact, there should be 6 runs added to his score for every successful challenge ... like scoring a sixer! That will teach umpires to give wrong decisions ... it will also deter the fielding team from frivolous appealing! WIN - WIN indeed! BRING IN TECHNOLOGY IMMEDIATELY INTO TEST CRICKET, STARTING FROM THE PERTH TEST! DONT DEBATE THIS TILL EXTINCTION!! OLDIES ... "FACE YOUR FEARS" AND DEAR UMPIRES, PLEASE STOP BEING "CONTROL FREAKS"!

Comments: test matches should be decided by the players but not by the men in white coat as the case in Sydney. Why not allow 3 appeals per innings like in Tennis and see what happens It may be against the tradition but we should also move on with the technology.

Comments: Please....please bring technology in regards to cricketing on field decision, the technology is there, we just need to implement it. The human element can remain in the game, however, aid is needed to the umpires so the get it RIGHT!

Comments: well india got the wrong end of the stick in the second test and quite frankly technology would have helped add an element of security in the game, where a certain team were robbed of a victory, maliciously stolen by their opposition

Comments: the lack of use of technology was one of the main factors in bringing down the game for india. the umpires did not even consider the third umpire with dubious appeals (e.g. the ball that clarke caught) Hawkeye and Snicko are used on television but not in referring to the third umpire which is completely STUPID. and the umpires are given too much power! cricket should learn from tennis in some aspects. umpires are not god.

Comments: It's the age of science and technology isn't it. So, use it to decide every decision possible especially the 50-50. Don't listen to Aussies, because they will manipulate it any way they want.

Comments: If Hawkeye and slow-motion cameras are used to such accuracy in 3rd umpire decisions, why can't these technologies be used at times when the players believe that there could be a fault in the umpire's decision Tennis is a great example, although some changes may be necessary as it is a different sport. This should at least be trialled somewhere...
