Comments: I can see no possible grounds for refusing these visas. The Fairtrade Producers have no desire to remain in the UK after Fairtrade Fortnight and the Fairtrade Foundation will make sure that they do not do so. While here, they will have no opportunity to do anything that is in any way detrimental to the interests of Britain. By facilitating their visit, the FO would be showing its commitment to the eradication of poverty throughout the world.

Comments: This is outrageous. Not more than 10 hours ago I cried my eyes out watching To Shoot An Elephant, and now I open my inbox to see this. It looks like all our efforts to help Palestinians live a life anyone deserves to live are coming to nothing. God bless this people.

Comments: it goes against all "fair trade" principles that the palestinian farmers not be allowed to participate in this event! Gordon Brown needs to put his visas where his mouth is!
